WELCOME
Thank
you for your interest in our church. Living Water Church is dedicated to being a
place where lives can be transformed by discovering the amazing reality of
becoming a follower of Jesus.
In light of
this, sermons are drawn from the exposition of Scripture and applied to life. We
believe that through the proclamation and teaching of God’s Word personal
transformation begins to take place. We believe in being relevant but we have
also experienced the fact that nothing is more relevant today than God’s Word,
the Bible.
You will find
that comfortable dress is the norm at our church. Yet, we are very serious about
the biblical call to become obedient to Christ in all of life. We are committed
to the truth that the main goal of life is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

MEET PASTOR ALLAN
Pastor Allan is a native of Illinois, and has
been married to Sue for thirty-eight years. Although they were only eighteen and
nineteen years old when they married it has been great! They have one daughter
and son-in-law and two granddaughters. A former rock and roll drummer, Allan
came to faith in Christ at age eighteen. After his conversion he studied through
the Liberty Home Bible Institute and later surrendered his life to serving God
as a pastor. His first church was in Gleason, Tennessee where he was pastor for
six years. During that time Allan earned his B. A.
degree in Religion and Philosophy from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
After graduating from Union in 1984, Allan and his family moved to Louisville,
Kentucky for him to attend the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary on a
Presidential Preaching scholarship. Upon completing his Master of Divinity
degree in 1987, Allan became the pastor of what was then called Plattsmouth
Baptist Church now Living Water Church.
In 1994 Allan earned his Doctor of Ministry
degree and in 1995 began teaching as an adjunct instructor in philosophy and
religion at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. He has taught
there ever since. He continues to love reading and studying.
The year 2005 was crucial for Allan. After much
study he came to embrace the Doctrines of Grace and turn his preaching to the
exposition of Scripture. Most Sundays will find Allan preaching through a book
of the Bible or engaged in a topical series anchored in the text of Scripture.
This change has propelled the church into a deeper, fuller, more serious
engagement with Christ. While the church has seen some numerical growth since
2005, the real growth has involved spiritual maturity. Allan’s aim is to see
people become whole in Christ by becoming serious students of God’s Word and
engagement in the biblical means of grace.
Those who have most influenced Allan include: The
Puritans, Charles Spurgeon, J. C. Ryle, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, John MacArthur
and Dr. R. Albert Mohler. Next to the Bible, the one book that has most affected
Allan’s life is, The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination by Loraine
Boettner.
